Miss Godden has 20 pencils which she shares between 2 Ruby Class members.
How many pencils does each Ruby Class member get?

Challenge 2:

Kim has 8 apples which she shares with 4 Ruby Class members.
How many apples does each Ruby Class member get?

Challenge 3:

If Miss Godden shares 16 rulers between 4 Ruby class members, how many rulers does one Ruby Class member get? Can you write this as a fraction?

    Challenge 1: 20 pencils dived by 2 members = 10 each
    Challenge 2: 8 apples dived by 4 members = 2 each
    challenge 3: 16 rulers between 4 members = 4/16

    I halved 20 to get ten
    Challenge 2
    I divided 8 by 4 to get 2
    Challenge 3
    I divided 16 by 4 to get 4
    The bottom number of a fraction is the total amount which is 16 and and the top number is how much is given to each class member so as a fraction it is 4/16
