Thousands of children across the country returned to school on Monday as part of the first step in easing lockdown in England. But, only St Mark’s did this on the official birthday of their school with bunting, balloons, cake, a special lunch and an assembly that looked at the last 66 years of the school on the current site.

Children were surprised on their welcome return by the street celebrations and were met by Mr Jones and Ms Braithwaite at the gate.

The sun shone and the staff and children enjoyed being back together after the very long break.
