I’m sure you will all know Doddie Weir as one of rugby’s most recognisable personalities. He won 61 caps for Scotland during a successful playing career and represented the British & Irish Lions on their successful tour to South Africa in 1997. A talented, committed, and athletic lock forward, Doddie is now facing his biggest challenge. In June 2017, he revealed that he was suffering from Motor Neuron Disease. Doddie has been driven to help fellow sufferers from the outset and seek ways to further research this as yet incurable disease.Doddie’s story has touched the rugby world.

Support our Chair of Governors

On Friday 25 June, I, along with a number of others, will be walking 30 miles from the Scottish Borders where Doddie lives to Murrayfield with the match ball for the British & Irish Lions v Japan match which is taking place there the following day. We will all be raising funds for the fight against MND – and having some fun along the way as well.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness!
