Pearl class have been exploring the Chinese New Year and its significance to the Chinese culture. The children loved the idea that the Chinese calendar is assigned to an animal. The discussion led the children to wanting to know the name of the animal of the year they were born, there were mixed responses to being born on the year of the sheep! The children enjoyed making rats using their hand prints and we made vegetable noodles which went down a treat!
