Look at all the different learning/activities we did at Hyde Park, Pirate Day. The children were challenged to work as a team and get of the island. They had to design a pirate flag and choose their team names. Then they had to think about the weather conditions, assess the wind direction using ‘ribbon windometers’ and of course learn how to use a compass.

They then had to build a ship, and pass the ‘sinking’ test. Finally they had to navigate across the park (marching and waving their flags and singing a sea shanty ) to the Princess Diana Park using their compass, a map and stamina!!

The winners sailed of the island and earned themselves gold coins. The losers walked the plank! We were all winners!

well…perhaps Lance should have walked the plank!

Please look at the amazing photos.
