When out shopping, please get the children to point out the prices of items. They can help to select the coins and notes when paying. A nice game is to price some objects at home and then to get the children to select the correct coins as well as to work out the change needed.
When out walking, counting games are also fun. It can be extended to counting backwards, or in 2s or 10s.
Now that the children are more confident with numbers they like to record their findings in number sentences or tally charts.
