Science club was a lot of fun this week. Children got to make their very own lava lamps and got to take them home. They learnt about solubility, immiscible liquids and density.

This helped them to understand the science behind their lava lamp. Water is more dense ( heavier than oil) so that stayed at the bottom and oil is less dense (lighter than water) it floated on top. Add a dash of food colouring and fizz tablets like Alka-Seltzer which reacts with the water to form carbon dioxide gas, plus a light sauce and Presto, Happy children having fun and learning some science.

They played hang man too to re-enforce the key words.
