As part of Black History Month, Opal Class looked at many black history heroes. We learned about one influential artist named Alma Woodsey Thomas.
Thomas was an art teacher for 35 years, she painted throughout her career and became the first black woman to have a solo exhibition at New York’s Whitney Museum of American Art.
We used her colourful art style as inspiration for our own creations.
