On the 6th of July, Coral Class went on an adventure to Kew Gardens in Richmond to learn about the different and rarest plants from the Rain forest. We explored this remarkable indoor rain forest and discovered tropical plants from some of the most threatened environments in the world. Many plants in the Palm House are endangered in the wild, some even extinct. Others – like the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis), African oil palm (Elaeis guineensis), or cocoa tree (Theobroma cacao). The Palm House was a chance to glimpse the magic of the rainforest for ourselves. We even got to see the oldest pot plant in the world!
