This morning we had our End of Autumn Term music performance assembly.

Year 4 kicked it off by playing Baby Shark and Jamaica 9-5 on the Recorders. They have done a great job with the recorder and after the Christmas break they will start playing the clarinets instead.

Then Rock Club took to the stage and performed a brilliant rendition of ‘Holly Jolly Christmas’ complete with jazz piano solo! Hopefully we can make a recording for all to hear soon because it is brilliant.

Sadly this performance marked the end of Naomi the recorder/clarinet/flute teacher’s time at St Mark’s. Naomi has been with us for several years now and is an incredible music teacher, she will be sorely missed. We wish her good luck in whatever she does in the future and hope to have her back at the school in some musical capacity.  From the sad to the happy; from January we will be joined by the awesome Liam who has been to our school a few times before and played as part of an Orchestra who visited us a few years ago. Welcome to St Mark’s, Liam.

Merry Christmas to all.
