Today in Leadership Assembly not only did St Mark’s acknowledge International Women’s Day but we also celebrated Hina-matsuri (Japanese Girl’s Day) that took place last Friday on the 3rd March.
Mr Jones had a helping hand from one of our Year 2 pupils and her Mum, Yukiko, who helped us learn about the tradition and culture of this very special Japanese festival.
Children were tested on their knowledge and understanding of Hina-matsuri and Yukiko and her daughter demonstrated their amazing Origami skills to rest of the school.
