We have had a great day in Yr. 5! We came dressed as refugees and left, with a greater knowledge of  World War 2! We made evacuee tags in the morning, before being evacuated to the basement to start our maths lesson. In maths we worked out how to ferry soldiers to safety efficiently, with limited boats, as we studied operation Dynamo. In English, we wrote about the arrival of the little boats on the beaches of Dunkirk. In the afternoon, we cooked corn beef hash and ate it …. It was delicious! Then we worked on our art, recreating the famous painting of, The Little Ships at Dunkirk, by Norman Wilkinson!

All in all, we had a rather fun day!
