The children have been very interested in the story of The Gingerbread man. We did a cooking activity and made our own gingerbread. Cooking is a great activity for the children to take part in, as it promotes many areas of their development. Some of these areas include:
- Mathematics- weighing/measuring ingredients, talking about amounts, sizes, shapes
- Communication and language- extending language skills, using sentences, new vocabulary
- Personal, social and emotional – sharing experiences with others
But most of all its a fun and exciting activity for the children.
Hope enjoyed that I miss being in nursery but I do like primary school???????
Now I want some gingerbread as well
