Today some of our wonderful Reception parents came into school and enjoyed a workshop about supporting children with their literacy development. Parents asked questions about reading and phonics which the Reception teacher , Mrs Farrah was on hand to answer. Our lead for Literacy Mr McEleney also supported this event and spoke about the need for reading and writing throughout our lives. The local library spokesperson came to speak about the importance of regular library visits which can help develop a life long love of reading. Libraries are for everyone in the local community to use and have a diverse array of books suitable for every child in your family. Books can be taken out free of charge.

As a school we are committed to building a new library for the school and our Friends of St Maks parent led group will be fundraising for this at the Spring Fair on Friday 25 March.

Thank you for your support.
