In the run up to the summer term we are working with children to help them to better understand what constitutes a ‘healthy lunch’. This includes encouraging children to ensure they have fruit, vegetables and salad with every single meal at school. We will also be restricting some of the items children are allowed to eat in their packed lunches.

The Junior Leadership Team have been working with all classes to ensure everyone is clear about the new requirements. Today they led our first assembly with lots of ideas.

Please don’t forget that Islington provided all primary aged children with a free lunch in school so if you are currently making packed lunch perhaps it’s time to try a school meal!

Here is the NHS website link with some really good ideas to help you with finding new recipes, fillings and options to get you started.
