This week at St Mark’s, we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr day.

On Monday 16th January, we attended a special whole school assembly which highlighted and celebrated some of the great work Martin Luther King Jr (MLK) completed, in order to pioneer change, and walk towards attaining equal rights for Black people around the world.

In class, we looked at some of the courageous non-violent acts, MLK completed in order to fight for this cause, and towards his vision of creating a world where his children would be judged by the content of their character, and not the colour of their skin.

We made detailed notes about the life, contributions and historical events of and surrounding MLK, and used them to write a short report about his selflessness and contributions to the wider society.
